Electrical Safety Devices
Your electrical safety is important to us. When it comes to electrical safety devices, we want everyone to feel safe in their homes or businesses.
The best way to ensure there are no electrical faults is by regularly checking your electrical safety equipment. That is the RCD safety switches, smoke alarms, and solar panels.
Belenus Pty Ltd suggests that you check your electrical equipment regularly. The following table gives you an idea when and how often.
Electrical equipment | How often? | When? | What to check? |
RCDs | Every three months | 5th March, June, September and December | click on the test button in the meter box |
Smoke alarms | Monthly | 11 Month | |
Smoke alarm batteries | Yearly | 1 April | change the batteries |
Solar panels | Yearly | check you panels when you are up on the roof checking the gutters | look out for whether the panels have any damage, rust, leaves/debris or bird poo. |
If you would like a gentle reminder to check your electrical safety equipment, simply join our Belenus Pty Ltd family and we’ll send through reminders each month along with other tips and energy information.
